the history of Camp Reynolds
for future generations. |
Brief
History of the Camp
Camp Reynolds was a WWII Army Camp
from 1942 to 1946. It was located in
Mercer County PA in Pymatuning and
Delaware Townships. It was one of
only two Army camps that were built
specifically as replacement depots
in WWII.
An estimated one million servicemen
passed through the camp on their way
to the European and Pacific Theaters
of War.

The camp
was also used as a Base POW Camp
with four branch camps and was the
Army’s first full time Canvas &
Webbing Repair Shop.
|
|
After
the camp was abandoned by the Army
the community of Reynolds was
developed into a residential and
industrial area.
|
|
Sponsorship Cost: $50 a
year.
Sponsors will be listed in the Sponsors List
on the Camp Reynolds website. |
