BRIGADIER GENERAL JESSE A. LADD - Served from 12/15/1943 to 12/11/1944

He was appointed Commanding Officer on 12/15/1944. He succeeded Colonel George M. Couper who was appointed commander after the death of Colonel Zim E. Lawhon. He continued as Commander until he was replaced by Lt. Colonel George Blaney. He was transferred to Indiantown Gap Military Reservation in PA as Commanding General Army Service Force Replacement Depot, when the camp was deactivated as an Army Service Forces replacement depot on 12/11/1944.

Born in Sandusky County OH on 9/21/1887.
Graduated from the US Military Academy in 1911.
Appointed 2nd Lt. of Infantry on 6/13/11.
Graduated from Infantry School at Fort Benning GA in 1921.
He served as an instructor in the Infantry School and the US Military Academy for several years.
He was a distinguished graduate of the General staff School at Ft. Leavenworth, KS in 1926.
He enrolled in Tank School at Ft. George G. Meade, Maryland 9/1930 and graduated in 6/1931.
He remained at Ft. Meade
as a member of the Infantry Board.
1935/36 Served at the Presidio of San Francisco as Executive Officer of the 3rd Battalion, 30th Infantry Regiment.
1936/37  Attached to Headquarters 4th Army (he was an original member of the 4th Army Staff)
He graduated from the Army War
College in Washington, D. C. in 6/1938.
He assumed command of the 1st Battalion, 2nd Infantry at Ft. Sheridan, IL in 1938-39.
Advancing through the
officer ranks, he was named colonel in 1940.
He was named Brig Gen. in 1941.
He was transferred to Ft. Richardson, Alaska in 8/1941 as Commanding Officer 15th Infantry Regiment.
